CBAM Manager for Celonis

Celonis CBAM Control App in the Celonis Marketplace
The CBAM Manager converts your ERP purchasing data into certificate costs, retrieves actual emissions data from your suppliers, and ensures your declaration is auditable. The Celonis platform is included.

CBAM is now included in your purchase price

Since January 2026, EU importers have been paying for emissions associated with steel, aluminum, cement, fertilizers, hydrogen, and electricity. These costs are incurred at the time of ordering. They usually do not become apparent until after importation, when they can no longer be controlled.
- Standard items get more expensive every year. In the absence of actual supplier data, the EU uses standard values plus a surcharge: 10% in 2026, 20% in 2027, and 30% starting in 2028.
- Master data masks the risk. Chinese steel sold through a German distributor is listed as having a German origin. CBAM entries are overlooked.
- Supplier data doesn’t just appear on its own. In the first year, manual data retrieval takes about 1.5 days per supplier.
An app that takes you from ordering to getting an explanation.
1. View the costs for each line item
The CBAM Manager retrieves purchasing and customs data from SAP, SAP GTS, or other ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 using standard Celonis connectors. It assigns CN codes and calculates the certificate costs for each order line item. Committed costs from open purchase orders are visible before the goods arrive.

2. Genuine values from your suppliers
The CORA Supplier App collects actual emissions data from your suppliers in 10 languages. Short videos from the CBAM Academy show them how to enter their data. Your accredited auditors work directly within the system, with a complete audit trail.

3. Manage costs, not just report on them
The Control Tower displays CBAM expenses, associated costs, and realized savings in euros, broken down by supplier, plant, and product group. The procurement team can see which supplier changes or data requests are worthwhile.

Two curves are rising simultaneously: the percentage of emissions for which you pay (up to 100% in 2034) and the surcharge on standard values (30% starting in 2028). Even where actual values are currently slightly above the standard value, the rising surcharge reverses that trend. Your Exposure Check shows both curves for your KN codes.

FAQs about the CBAM Control App for Celonis
CBAM is an EU initiative that was introduced as part of the European Green Deal. The aim is to create equality between EU-based companies and their international competitors by avoiding carbon leakage. This is achieved by reducing emissions from the production of imported goods and protecting European companies that invest in clean technologies.
CBAM concerns emission-intensive goods such as cement, electricity, fertilizers, iron & steel (including pipes and structural components), and aluminium imported from outside the EU. These goods were selected due to their high carbon footprint and their importance to the EU economy.
Almost the entire manufacturing and processing industry in the EU is affected. This affects companies that import CBAM-relevant goods, regardless of their size or the scope of their business activities. Particular attention is being paid to importers of fertilizers and electricity.
